I just had the rear subframe replaced in my ‘13 Pathfinder. I am the original owner, bought it “new” in ‘15 as a leftover. It has low miles (80k). It’s been garaged from day 1. I live on the Jersey Shore. Not really a Mecca for mass amounts of snow.
You hit the nail on the head with your cost estimate! I was charged nearly $2600. I want to keep this vehicle for at least another 4 years. Hope the new subframe doesn’t rot out in the mean time!?!
Thanks for posting this. I have a 2014 and just found the rear sub frame to be cracked enough where the bushing fell right out from the control arm. It only has 80,000 mi on it and is garaged most of its life. I do live in New England so I do understand the rust. Going to find out Friday how much it's going to cost to repair. This is now my son's car so I want to make sure it's safe.

I also have a 2013 pathfinder bought new as well. I went to get a wheel alignment and was told that my rear subframe was cracked. They were amazed that the rest of my under carriage was in very good condition. My vehicle is well maintained.
Did you end up doing the repair on the sub frame? I'm curious about the cost involved. I just found the same exact thing and I'm bringing it in on Friday to have it looked at. 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with only 80,000 mi on it.

Your East Haven connection saved one of the social workers I work with from turning in her rustbucket Nissan to the bank. Sharing good connections is really important. I read them your post - they laughed but I know they appreciated your referral.

Not a Nissan enthusiast, but Bob's your uncle.

More pictures and I'm happy to say report the rest of the frame is visibly solid. I removed some more surface rust and added Rust Reformer and plan to give it mat black coating on two weeks time permitting. Hopefully someone of the future can reference this post and save thier ride iregardless of the brand. I have to say that Secured Welding out of East Haven CT did a great job keeping this one from the scrapper and allowing not have too buy another over priced vehicle. Added a bonus Pic of the engine bay to show how clean the rest of the vehicle is kept and another one to show off some new stopping power going in front and rear. Might as well drop some coin maintenance as planned before this all started. View attachment 18897 View attachment 18900 View attachment 18899

Thanks I feel it's important to share good and bad as long as you let the reader decide for themselves. Hopefully since I have to back I get a repeat customer and referral discount 🤣🤣

The Pathfinder is back on the road.

Some LOL, click bait, teaser photos first. The car didn't actually look like this but Kourtney thought is funny and so did I😂😂😂. The wheels are actually just unbolted before he finished up.

I have a 2014. My car has been rehauled out of the 10 years. I've had it. It's been at Nissan 6 years. Everything has been replaced, but the engine. The transmission 3 times the compressor 4 times I mean, everything has been replaced in this car now. After I just spent thousands of dollars fixing it. I have my car back 1 day. And my engine light comes on. Both my converters are gone. Well I'm getting that checked. He proceeds to tell me that my I. Front sub frame is rotted out and is not safe to drive the car. So I only go in town. Driveing the car and I hear a big noise. So I take.
It to have it looked out again. The front sub frame hasn't broken yet, but the rear subframe broke. This car is the biggest hunter junk I've had. I maintain my car very well. I do not beat on my car my sub. Marine both front and yeah, I completely rotted. You can peel it off like wallpaper.
Almost $40000. What a piece of ****, So I feel for you and once I have the insurance company.Look at my car.I'm sure they're gonna total it, I've been Denise on many times many, many times I told you my cousin in the shop at least 6 years out of can't tell me they didn't notice this. This is a safety issue.People could be killed and nobody's ever said anything to me.I had to bring it somewhere else to get an honest answer

And my daughter had a 2010 Nissan. Altima spent thousands of dollars worth the work. She just got off. The highway pulled into her parking lot and her entire frame brought it and fell right out of our car. Don't believe I'll ever buy a Nissan again. Very sad because they do drive nice. But nothing but problems

All,

I bought my pathfinder brand new in 2013. It has a 140k miles on it and just recently the rear subframe cracked. The car is well maintained and always kept in a garage. Has anyone seen any bulletins or policy statements or has delt with Nisan on this? It appears this issue is not unknown to the pathfinder and other nissan vehicles. On the Altimas Nissan was fixing this problem. I have reached out to the dealer with no results. Please let me know if anyone has any experience with this.
Bought mine in 2014, front subframe rotted ready to break, rear subframe rotted and broke, my car has been in the shop 6 out of 10 years, no lie, everyone asks if I'm dating the owner because they always give me a new loaner, my extended warranty refused to resign me , "we have already spent twice the book value of your vehicle in 3 yrs", love the vehicle , nice smooth ride but everything in it has been replaced 2 to 3 times, and I mean everything besides the engine

I'm dealing with the exact same thing. Can you offer any suggestions on where to go from here? Mine is on both sides.

I've just recently experienced this while drivin with my son. I was going well over 50 and Heard a loud pop then it just started shaking like crazy. So I got out of the gas a just coasted to the shoulder. If I would've panicked and slammed the brakes it could've been worse.
