I took a lot tips from this forum and did the same. Wider Yokohama Geolandar G015 all terrain tyres and a mild lift. We take ours off road a fair bit and I've found the limits of the car too. Even with the one inch lift the clearance is appalling, I have a rock sized dent on my oil pan to prove it. 😂 Also, the CVT/computer just won't let the car put power to the ground to get over more challenging rock steps.

Having said that, for the money and fact that I use this car to ferry kids to school on every other day that it's not off-road it's a pretty decent bit of kit. When I bought the car, I never intended that I would be out camping or off roading this much. Just started replacing things as I needed. E.G. The rear springs sagged so I replaced all four with lifted heavier duty King springs.

The roof rack is a Rola Titan 1500x1200mm which fits perfectly. It doesn't cover the sunroof either. I used a low mount rail system so the tray sits as low as possible.

Expensive, but it's been one of the best investments with all the travel we do with the pathfinder. I used the roof rack to mount the side awning, as well as extra lights for the front and sides. The full size spare wheel goes on the roof too, I can't hope to rely on the space saver if I'm towing or in the middle of nowhere.

I too am looking at replacing the springs with something more stout and to gain a little clearance.
Would you mind sharing the tire specs you were able to get under the pf after the lift?
Do you like them? How is the ride with the stiffer springs/tires? Mileage?
Sorry for all the questions, appreciate any info you are willing to share.

Thanks,
jcc

Really old post thread but a good update. I did put on the proper sized tires that Nissan should have put on it. AND, ours is actually off-road nearly every weekend. View attachment 16214
whst size falkens do you have on there now? And have you had any rubbing? I am wanting to increase the tire size but thinking my choice of 265/65 18s will rub when I turn since they are over an inch wider and 1.5 inches lager diameter than 235/65 OEM. The tire shop said 255/65 would probably be okay.

I can't answer for @CaptainBlaze , but from my side I have 255/50/20 on mine and no rubbing, and 255/60/18 comes standard in a Rock creek edition.

I seen 265/60/18 used in the forum with minimal to no issues by other owners.

Just curious what you used to lift it the inch or so. I’ve seen the coil spacers and rear shock spacer that come in 30mm and sometimes 40mm, but I don’t know if that is all I would need. What components did you buy? And you mentioned stiffer springs as well? Even if it is just an extra inch, I think it would look better. Also, did you just go wider on the tires or also larger diameter? What size?

The lift was replacement springs (as the old ones were stuffed and sagging) with King Springs KDFR-98 for the front, and the heavier duty KDRR-99HD for the rear. Got the heavy duty for the rear as I'm often carrying full load in the car and towing a small trailer. Stops the rear from sagging too much even under load. Australian brand. I would have liked to raise the car more than just the extra inch that these springs offer, but nothing else was available at the time and it's a good compromise between the main road duties of the car and the light off roading that we do.

Tyres are the 265/60R18 size that a lot of people have upgraded to on this forum. No rubbing or issues whatsoever, and no change of speedometer accuracy (negligible difference). For my purposes I can't recommend the Yokohama Geolandar G015 enough. They've been fantastic all rounders. Just make sure you're lowering tyre pressures when going off road/gravel. I would buy these tyres again and again.

I also purchased another spare wheel with a noname generic all terrain tyre as a spare, we bring it along on the roof if we're going anywhere remote or serious. Especially if towing.

Hey, hopefully you run into this. Im literally doing the exact same roof rack system, but just purchased the rhino rack Vortex Aero cross bars. Looking at it im thinking its going to be too high for my liking. What was the low mount rail system you used??

Sorry to join late. I saw this post a year ago and I had to go build it myself. I have it looks pretty bad a** in my opinion and it does really well in the off road scene despite frequent nay sayers. So it’s more than just looks. I’m looking for a little bigger more height eventually but it’s pretty good right now View attachment 16212 View attachment 16213
what setup are you running with here
