The Display/radio etc. on my 2017 Pathfinder SL (38000 Miles) has stopped working. Something seems to have faded because at first the Nissan Logo would appear but never boot up; the cameras would work only in reverse but today the screen is totally dark and without power and no cameras at all.
I have removed every fuse inside the vehicle and verified good with a meter. I have pulled all fuses from the engine compartment and they are all good as well. Someone suggested that the ACC relay above the engine might be the problem so I swapped that for another but still no luck. I managed to remove the Extended Storage fuse and replaced it with another although that fuse tested OK too. I disconnected the battery and let it sit overnight but this did not help either.
Does not sound like a fuse because things got progressively worse, but then again, I could be wrong. Is there another relay associated with the console that I am missing?


Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I was having this same problem on 2018 PF SL and dealer said it needed new wiring harness (complete main ) replaced for 4000$ and Everything worked for 3 months up until a couple days ago ..now the computer is back off doing nothing .i don’t want to spend any more money on this problem .i bought a blue tooth speaker but the computer screen also controls climate

I realized that mine acts up when I have the rear hatch open and its raining. After a few days it'll stop, and go back to normal. Are there any modules in the back that are susceptible to water? I was in a minor fender bender right before all this happened. Didn't cause any visible damage to my vehicle. Wondering if it's all connected now.

So the new Dealership analyzed my problem, had the part in the next day, and today they repaired the vehicle for $750. plus $136 for labor. One month with this problem and I can only say that Fred Beans of Doylestown,PA will never see this vehicle again. If anyone else has this problem just post it and I can supply the part number and save yourself a lot of ag.

I have a 2016 Pathfinder SL, and for the past few years we have been using an RCA to aux cord, with an additional aux to lightning cable adapter to play music through aux. As of last week, it randomly stopped working, and I have no idea what the problem is. If I try to play music while my phone is plugged in, the sound only comes from my phone's speakers, and doesn't go through the car anymore. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the rca/aux cord, because ever since it's stopped working there has been 2 times where I've plugged my phone in and played a song, and it would play about 2-3 seconds of the song through the car before cutting off again. I'm not sure if it's a fuse issue, because we have an iphone charger plugged into the usb port right beside the RCA port, which works, however the rest of my family who drives the car has said that around the same time the aux stopped working, the iphone charger has become faulty and only works sometimes (but from my experience the iphone charger works fine it's only the aux that hasn't been working). Do you think it's a fuse issue, or does it sound like an issue with the rca cord? If it's a fuse issue, how would I go about replacing the fuse?

Hi I’m having a similar issue. And have been told that the radio assembly needs to be replaced for $5734. I just put in a new transmission 8 months ago. So I’m not looking to spend that much on this car again in life. I have a 2018 Nissan pathfinder. Will the part discussed earlier work for this issue? CDU (control display unit 28387 6gy1e)?

Just bought 2018 pathfinder (used as is) radio no work screen no work. Backup screen turns on but no lines and sonar off? part is 28387 6gy1a. Part is no good!!!! Plugged my vin into nissan web sight they want $3500, what a complete insult and disgrace to humanity!!!!!! Found a part 28387 6gy1e.., Plugged VIN to that part and Nissan said no work!!! Changed Vehicle to 2018 Pathfinder SV on Nissan web and it said match!!!!!! ??????? Went and bought a used CDU (control display unit 28387 6gy1e) Plugged it into my 2018 Pathfinder and everything works as it should!!!!! TOTAL COST $135. Ruthless P.O.S

Hi Road king, I posted a few threads re; my failed console. After all was said and done, the whole problem turned out to be the Monitor and I found a more reliable Dealer that quoted me $750 for the part. If you look around this site you will find my posts with the whole sordid tale including the Part number.
The whole episode was a lesson that we are no longer allowed to repair our vehicles because Nissan has the software necessary to link these parts to your vehicle. I was fortunate that I purchased all my used part from eBay and they were refundable and although they were all OK, I could not make them work. I am hoping that a "Right to Repair" legislation is passed very soon.

Never seen anything on post except $750 dealer fixed. If you don't want to say what and how dealer did. Why say anything at all

Hi Axel I have read your posts and I also experienced similar non functioning radio and navigation but the reverse camera works what is that part number that the last dealer replaced for u to make it work

After reading this, I decided to take my monitor apart, and here are my thoughts on it:

A monitor is essentially a computer with a flash drive instead of a hard disk. If the flash drive fails, the monitor won’t boot either. As a precaution, I’ll make a backup of the flash drive since it’s much cheaper than buying a new monitor.

My second observation: the board has two chips that are connected to the casing with thermal paste for cooling. Thermal paste needs to be replaced every few years, and there wasn’t much of it in my monitor. This leads me to my second conclusion - these monitors could fail due to overheating of these chips. To prevent that, I plan to replace the thermal paste with fresh one.

I’ll post a report in the mentioned thread.

You don't need to buy any new hardware in most cases. It's the MicroSD card that the person above me mentioned that fails. If anyone else comes across this in the future, this is your fix.

Yes, there's some testimonials on reddit from people that have purchased one and installed it. There's also some on reddit and here from people that have done the fix manually with my help. My Canadian Nissan image is on cars in Canada, several places in the us, and mexico (I've creates horcruxes lol, my car can never die now).

I've sold a few of the SD cards and helped a bunch of people do it for free. Some of those people have sent me some money as a thanks for helping them, which I didn't set as an expectation but it was and is greatly appreciated.

My main goal is to get everyone who has this issue a working DCU again, ideally without giving any money to Nissan. The best way to achieve that is by spreading the knowledge for free. I decided to offer the service for those that didn't want to go through the whole process outlined in the guide (I encountered a few on reddit alone) because not everyone is capable of or wants to do this.
