He could not fix it but confirmed the issue was the Display Control unit. I just pulled mine out went to a salvage yard and found the common part plugged it in at the salvage yard after I was positive the part worked I paid the $135. for it and living happily ever after.

Road King; I am still without anything on the console. I removed the "computer" nested between the radio and the plastic heating control and replace it with TWO different units bought off eBay...still dead! I went to the dealer where I bought this machine and they were totally unhelpful: "We can make an appointment for next week and the first charge is for one hour ($150.) to analyze the problem...it may take that long to get into the dash...(It now takes me 10 minutes to take things apart). The Service Manager did say that there are 3 Computer modules that have to talk to each other. Your dread of high dollar solution is well founded and I'm trying my best to avoid another mortgage to get this fixed. I'm now thinking that the Monitor itself is the problem (I may be totally wrong again!) since it has gone totally dead without the intermittent flashes. On Friday, I ordered a monitor again off eBay and am awaiting confirmation of shipping. This monitor is pretty unique and I could only find 2 with the wiring like mine. It is over $2900 new so I'm taking a chance on a wrecker and willing to keep trying to replace parts...I will shoot myself it turns out to be a bad wire under the hood.

Hello I am having same issue 2017 pathfinder. Went to Costco for new battery and needed jump, guy wasn't sure what he was doing car started but blew out battery fuse (dorman) replaced it and radio screen, radio controls, HVAC controls, and the DVD players all do not work. Took to dealer waiting to hear if it's a wire or module. Module is $1800.00 and cheaper than wire harness.

One month with this problem and I can only say that Fred Beans of Doylestown,PA will never see this vehicle again. If anyone else has this problem just post it and I can supply the part number and save yourself a lot of ag.

Hi Road king, I posted a few threads re; my failed console. After all was said and done, the whole problem turned out to be the Monitor and I found a more reliable Dealer that quoted me $750 for the part. If you look around this site you will find my posts with the whole sordid tale including the Part number.
The whole episode was a lesson that we are no longer allowed to repair our vehicles because Nissan has the software necessary to link these parts to your vehicle. I was fortunate that I purchased all my used part from eBay and they were refundable and although they were all OK, I could not make them work. I am hoping that a "Right to Repair" legislation is passed very soon.

The Display/radio etc. on my 2017 Pathfinder SL (38000 Miles) has stopped working. Something seems to have faded because at first the Nissan Logo would appear but never boot up; the cameras would work only in reverse but today the screen is totally dark and without power and no cameras at all.
I have removed every fuse inside the vehicle and verified good with a meter. I have pulled all fuses from the engine compartment and they are all good as well. Someone suggested that the ACC relay above the engine might be the problem so I swapped that for another but still no luck. I managed to remove the Extended Storage fuse and replaced it with another although that fuse tested OK too. I disconnected the battery and let it sit overnight but this did not help either.
Does not sound like a fuse because things got progressively worse, but then again, I could be wrong. Is there another relay associated with the console that I am missing?


Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Just bought 2018 pathfinder (used as is) radio no work screen no work. Backup screen turns on but no lines and sonar off?
part is 28387 6gy1a. Part is no good!!!! Plugged my vin into nissan web sight they want $3500, what a complete insult and disgrace to humanity!!!!!! Found a part 28387 6gy1e.., Plugged VIN to that part and Nissan said no work!!!
Changed Vehicle to 2018 Pathfinder SV on Nissan web and it said match!!!!!! ??????? Went and bought a used CDU (control display unit 28387 6gy1e) Plugged it into my 2018 Pathfinder and everything works as it should!!!!! TOTAL COST $135. Ruthless P.O.S

I'm having that issue. No more cycling. My screen doesn't work anymore. Can you give me the part number

Can you post part number for the screen? I have checked every fuse relay etc after ours froze and died over the weekend.

Looks like a few people are recently having the same issue that I have had. Good news is that Ive managed to fix mine and Im willing to share.
I had over 12 months of living with the screen constantly restarting and going blank, losing all the infotainment and AC controls (other than the rear AC control). Mine degraded over the time to the point where it was completely unusable, then the AV control unit completely died turning into a dead short and blowing Fuse 65 in Relay box 2 (near the battery) This caused total loss of illumination and activation of the center stack.
My replacement part numbers may be no good to you as my pathfinder is an Australian delivered 2016 ST model, which has the 7 inch screen and no Navigation. but I'm willing to post anyway hoping it will help someone.
The part numbers you are looking for are on the units.
For me:
Display Part# 28091 1LA0A
AV Control unit Part # 2591A 1LK6A

My problem was 100% the AV control unit. I had already tried another screen and it made no change.
The AV control unit from Nissan is something like US$3500 new

I went with second hand - I bought the Display, AV control unit and AC Control unit as a package from a dismantling yard. All 3 units came from the same car which was the same as mine with the same options. I installed all 3 units into my car together to ensure I wouldn't have any further issues.
Total price was AU$285 which is equivalent to US$190.
