Thanks Bob. Just seems odd that I have backed out of driveway and driving down the street and its still showing me rear seatbelt status. Goes off after about a minute.

 

yep its normal.. just hit the ok button on the steering wheel to make it go away

 

Has anyone else had this issue, but it doesn't go away after 1 minute? I've made multiple trips as long as 30 minutes and it never went away without my pressing the left or right arrow.

 

I have the other day. Stayed on for quite a while until I hit the back button. Didn't think too much of it especially since there's a way to get rid of it. Kids are old enough at this point to let me know they're definitely still in the car; wish I could perm disable it on startup.

It will eventually turn off. Or you can just hit the back option on the steering wheel.

I am having the same annoying issue. Who says "it's normal" - Nissan or just other owners who think it is normal?

 

It’s normal for the seat belt display to come on when the vehicle is started. It’s a safety feature intended to alert parents if their children haven’t buckled their belts.

It’s not normal for it to stay on for an extended period.

 

What is considered "extended time"? Mine stays on about 1 minute. It blocks everything else on my screen - most of which I would like to see upon leaving my driveway!

 

I’m not sure exactly what an extended time is but occasionally mine stays on longer than I think it should and a minute seems excessive. When it does that, I press the right arrow on the left side of the wheel and it goes away. Annoying but it’s infrequent on mine.

 

We see it on for the front passenger seat, and all rear seats, even when the seat belts are buckled. Seams like a safety issue to me: not a safety feature.

 

Is there anyway to turn it off permanently? So so annoying!

 

It may be 'normal' but it is outdated and useless - what's the point of alerting me that seatbelts are not in use if there's no one else in the car?? Fix this please Nissan via upload on Nissan Connect.. it is a blight on an otherwise excellent car!

 

Yes, it stays on for a whole minute. The longer you have the car, you'll discover more of these features that either don't work or are maddeningly ineffective. My 2024 Pathfinder is for sale because of this kind of nonsense. I'd rather lose money one time than be pi$$ed off every time I drive about paying for awful technology. Fewer than 3000 miles...make an offer. It's a beautiful car.
