You have an R53 (2022 - 2023) with 66,000 miles already?!? Impressive.
Looks like he's got a 2019. Like you say, the R52's do a little bit better in terms of brake life than the R53s.

Glad I found this post. 15k miles on my 22 Pathfinder. Fought with the dealership and customer service. Had to pay $377 to get the rear brakes replaced at the dealership. Was told they were totally bare. Clearly Nissan is ignoring a large issue.
Hi, you are Absolutely correct! My ‘22 has just under 15k. I took it to a dealership just for an oil change & check up. They told me passenger back brake was at 2mm & driver back side low also. Found a Great service manager & mechanic in Ga. They said the pin going in the caliper possibly wasn’t greased well when suv was made. They greased it well & he replaced both back brake pads. Only time will tell when I get another 15,000 miles. I also believe, after reading these posts that Nissan proper, not this dealership, is ignoring this problem. I was very fortunate & they covered these repairs under my initial warranty.

I had the rear brakes of my 2015 replaced under warranty.
I'll have to check the literature with my 2019, but is this still a thing today?

I do know for fact Nissan used to cover the cost of pad/rotor replacements within the first 12K miles with zero fuss. I'm sure there's push-back today with the cost of everything.

The service manager at the dealer wanted to sell me "brake maintenance" about the second or third time I took my PF for and oil change, 20 or 30k km mark. I asked him what would I get out of that and he said that my brakes would be covered up to the 3year/60k km mark if I serviced them. I did the math and the cost of service was less than the cost of pads and rotors and already knowing that the rear ones wore fast, I went for it.
They tried to hide that I needed new brakes on more than one visit, the tech would write "new brakes needed" (as every dealer does even if you don't need them) and someone would crossed it out with a sharpie (but still legible). At the end, they got replaced for free.

I contacted warranty and after them doing investigation they responded that I did infact have 1 year or 12k mile warranty on the brake part but since it was after one year and 200 miles over 12k it was after warranty. My luck :(

Sometimes you can get a dealer to approve under good faith. “Good faith warranty”. I killed my dealer with kindness on my 16’ Platinum Murano when the heated/cooled seat element went out. They ended up approving it - saved me $1,200 and I was past the mileage and year mark on my 3yr/36k warranty….

Someone said these are the same brakes as the Altima, what year? Any confirmation for the front fitment? I was going to see if Hawk has a pad for the R53, and upgrade my brake fluid. The stock brakes on the RC seem like they would be a lot better with a few mods.
