I have a 2022 Pathfinder with 28000 miles. The rear brakes are worn out. Is anyone else noticing rear brakes wearing out around this mileage? Also, it is mostly highway driving. Secondly, since the E brake is connected to the caliper, I am guessing these are the twist in caliper pistons?

Rear brakes always wear faster. 30,000 is on the lower end of the life but definitely not unheard of. My Murano (previous vehicle before Pathy) I did rear brakes at 35,000 miles and they didn’t have a ton of life left. This was a twist in caliper, and I would assume the same.

I have 2022 PF SV with 14800 miles. Couple of weeks ego I started feeling slight vibration and hear rubbing noise coming from rear brakes on the highway speed braking (65-75 MPH). Took it to dealership, they resurfaced rotors under warranty. A week later after resurfacing I have same symptoms again. I guess I will be going again to the dealership..

If they just sanded off the rotors and not the brake pads, this will likely keep occurring. They need to replace the pads and rotors completely this time!

Replaced the OEM semi metallic with ceramic. I've had better results with them in the past.

I had this happen on my 2019 Rogue, but around 20K. I'm convinced that it was related to the automatic braking system. I lived in the city and did a lot of parallel parking...just curious if yours kicks on a lot.

On my 2019 Pathfinder, the rear pads and rotors last us about 30K miles if you are lucky. I've replaced the rears twice on our 2019. Once for the fronts.

My ‘22 SL is at the dealer right now getting new rear brake pads and the rotors resurfaced. It has just under 30k miles. It was down to 1 mm in the back apparently. They said it’s because all the fancy features use the rear brake.

It's because these vehicles are big, heavy and the rear brake pads and rotors are small for the amount of work they do. It's too bad you couldn't DIY. A good set of rear pads, rotors and hardware can be had through RockAuto or the likes for about $100 all-in.

Yeah, I definitely can’t DIY. $239 for the rear pads and resurface. It is what it is. I’m definitely not getting tires from them, though. He told me my stocks are at 5 or 6 and I’m going to need to replace them soon. The stock tires suck though. After driving a Tacoma for years before this, I definitely hate these tires.

$239 is very fair.

I believe new value advantage pads and rotors thru your average Nissan dealer would be about $400/axle these days.

Same problem of rear brakes wearing out long before front brakes on our 2015 Pathfinder. All the vehicles I've owned in the past wore out the front pads before the rears, probably because the fronts did 80% of the braking. I suspect it may be the way Nissan has the proportioning valve (if it even has one) set up or?

My fronts are measuring at 5 and my rear pads were at 1. It seems like a big difference. I’ve always had the fronts need replacing first also with other vehicles.
