2022 Pathfinder rear brakes

I started hearing the brake pad wear indicator on the right rear a few days ago.

As expected, my 22 SL Premium 4WD needs new rear brakes - pads and rotors. 39,800 miles so not bad compared to some others on the forum. I’m having them done at my local Firestone. The store manager was surprised they wore so quickly. The new pads will have a lifetime warranty.

So my first attempt to find a local shop to install the rear pads and brakes I bought failed. Told the mechanic it’s a 2023 pathfinder and he said no problem leave the car. We’ll take care of it. Quoted $150 labor. Get a call a few hours later saying they started it but can’t do it because they don’t have the Nissan software or application and they’re not willing to pay $200 for it. Understandably so. My guess is the software unlocks the electronic brake others have mentioned in this thread. Anyways will call around and see if another local shop has the software license purchased. Dealership wants $700 for the rear brakes which in my opinion is ridiculous.
Firestone should be about $500 for new rear pads and rotors.
