Stalls-Battery-Alternator Failures: Disable Variable Voltage Control System (VVCS)?

Hello all - most of us have experienced the loss of power/stalls resulting from battery drain and alternator failures.

I have read that one culprit could be the new Variable Voltage Control System (VVCS) that is installed in our cars to automatically "tell" the alternator whether/when/how much to charge our batteries.

I saw a number of video suggesting that disabling this system has fixed the battery drain issue, ensuring that the alternator supplies a constant supply of the needed 14volts. Here are a couple of youtube videos that demonstrate this for Pathfinders and other Nissans:

Has anyone had this done on their car to resolve the battery drain issue by disabling the "smart" charging system?

cheers, Yy
