2022 Pathfinder rear brakes

I have a 2022 Pathfinder with 28000 miles. The rear brakes are worn out. Is anyone else noticing rear brakes wearing out around this mileage? Also, it is mostly highway driving. Secondly, since the E brake is connected to the caliper, I am guessing these are the twist in caliper pistons?

I started hearing the brake pad wear indicator on the right rear a few days ago.

As expected, my 22 SL Premium 4WD needs new rear brakes - pads and rotors. 39,800 miles so not bad compared to some others on the forum. I’m having them done at my local Firestone. The store manager was surprised they wore so quickly. The new pads will have a lifetime warranty.

I just out the second set of rear brakes on my wife's '22. She drives alot and it is averaging to be a out every 30K or soforbrakes. Nissan knows that the pads arenot large/heavy enough for the vehicle but they will not issuea tsb/recall on them.
The smaller rear disc brake pads wear out much faster than the larger front disc brake pads, about 3 to one. Obviously the rear brakes are the primary brakes, thats how Nissan has the braking set up. But why? Most other manufacturers have the larger front disc brakes doing 80% of the braking. So the front pads on most other vehicles last around 40-k miles or more before needing to be replaced. Is it the setup in the proportioning valve? Is there a proportioning valve? Anyone know?

Just checked mine and I'm at 20k mi with just over 4mm left. Based on what some of the others are reporting, I'm doing pretty good. If I get another 20-30k mi, even better. For the size of the rotor back there, the pads are tiny. They could've stuck way bigger pads and wouldn't have had an issue.

The other thing I noticed is how beefy the hub and arm are back there. Even has a cam bolt for adjustments.

2023 Pathfinder @ 21k miles. Fronts measured today at 6mm and rear pads measured at 2mm. Dealership quoted $700. My plan is to buy Duralast Ceramic Elite pads and Duralast Rotors for a total of $240 and then find a local shop to install and pay for labor. Supposedly the elite version pads last 3x longer than OEm ones. Anyone here try Duralast branded pads before?

I replaced the front at 21k for excessive noise and I just did the rear at 31k. I do a lot of highway miles. Yes, the brakes are undersized for this platform. On the rear the caliper placement is mounted to high on the rotor. I replaced both front and rear with drilled and slotted rotors and semi metallic pads from Brake Performance. $300 for each set.

So my first attempt to find a local shop to install the rear pads and brakes I bought failed. Told the mechanic it’s a 2023 pathfinder and he said no problem leave the car. We’ll take care of it. Quoted $150 labor. Get a call a few hours later saying they started it but can’t do it because they don’t have the Nissan software or application and they’re not willing to pay $200 for it. Understandably so. My guess is the software unlocks the electronic brake others have mentioned in this thread. Anyways will call around and see if another local shop has the software license purchased. Dealership wants $700 for the rear brakes which in my opinion is ridiculous.
