I would use that price discrepancy of $800 cost vs. $270 credit in your price negotiations. That's ridiculous! There was some discussion about the R53 Pathys without the tow package not having the tranny cooler. For what it's worth though, if you think you'll do any towing at all, just get the tow package. Adding it later will only be extra aggravation and give you a 3500 lb. max towing capacity.

Did they remove the motion activated liftgate sensor too? I bought mine with the Tow Delete Package and had the dealer install the hitch after but they removed the sensor claiming it was not possible to have the feature with the hitch (Not true). So in order to get the upgraded tow capabilities, you must get the Premium Package or Platinum, the only thing that seems to be done to the powertrain is "Enhanced Transmission Cooling System " thats it ? a simple trans cooler ? I wonder If I can add the factory trans cooler myself ?

I have the same problem I can't fine a NEW new Pathfinders on the dealer lots with a trailer hitch... WOW All of the VW Atlas on the lots there wasn't one that was missing the trailer hitch. Maybe they are havinhg problems with the new nine speed transmission from the old CVT GET With it Nissan!!!!. Who buys a SUV and doesn't plan on pulling something

That said, I hear you! Most of the SV and SL Pathfinders on dealer lots I find do not have the tow package. On the other hand, all of the Plats do, so I'm assuming from what you said that Pathfinder Platinums are hard to find in your area?
