Starting today after unloading some boxes, whenever I open my trunk either from key or from the back or from the front trunk button, it beeps once it reaches to the top and then closes by itself. I couldnt find any similar issues on the web or forum. I need help!! Any ideas?

In your manual, on page 3-27, there is a section on calibrating the liftgate height. I would recommend you run through the steps described, and if that doesn't solve the problem, take it to the dealer. There is a known issue related to the rear spoiler making contact with the roof panel - and that interference could be causing the issue.

going to bring it in on monday morning. and i'll keep you guys updated.

FINALLY! I got a chance to bring it to the dealership. The trunk door had to be re-calibrated. Just a reminder, don't try to force your trunk to stop while its in motion. Just let it do its work. hahaha.

I have the same thing. I took it to dealership pence, they fixed it in 10 minutes "resetting it". Same thing happened again when I was testing it out and manually stopped the door from closing. I guess if you manually stop the automatic open/close, this issue occurs. I am now at dealership again to "reset" it. Anyone know how to reset this without having to go to dealer? A bit ridiculous Nissan would allow this to occur.

See post# 2 above. If that doesn't solve it, take it back to the dealer and ask them if there is a way that you can perform the calibration yourself.

I literally just came here toto ask this. This weekend the trunk slammed my mom on the head when she was getting something out of the trunk. It has been doing the same thing. I'll try resetting it otherwise to the dealer it goes.

For anyone that either can't find their manual or just wants this spoon fed to them like I did:

LIFTGATE POSITION SETTING
The lift gate can be set to open to a specific height by performing the following:
1. Open the lift gate using the request switch or the Intelligent Key.
2. Pull the liftgate down to the desired position and hold the liftgate (the liftgate will have some resistance when being manually adjusted).
3. While holding the liftgate in position, press and hold the liftgate switch located on the liftgate for approximately 5 seconds or until 3 beeps are heard. The liftgate will open to the selected position setting.

To change the position of the liftgate, repeat steps 1-3 for setting the position of the liftgate.

I just joined this forum for this problem.

My 2014 had been to the dealership twice to reset the trunk. I went again this morning and the tech simply pressed the close button down for a few seconds until two beeps were heard. This is what he says Nissan (who are aware of this issue) have told dealerships to do. Annoying and dangerous!

My trunk on my 2015 with 5,600km , it just all of a sudden the trunk button on the liftgate to close it does not work at all. The remote button to open trunk works fine to open and close it but if I push button on license plate to open it just unhinged and have to open manually and the button won't close it. Any ideas??

I'm new to the forum and owning a PF, I recently noticed that my liftgate will open when you use the fob, rear button or internal button but it will not close at all. I have to manually close it. If this has already been addressed please let me know where to find the answer before I head to the dealership.

Pathfinder back door shuts without activating it

I folowed the reset instructions on 3-27 in the manual for my 2014 Pathfinder and corrected the problem. Thanks for your solution and saving me a trip to my dealership!

I had the same issue. Fixed it in 5 minutes by reading instructions on page 3-27 of the manual.
