Shaking at 2500rpm

Hello everyone,

My car had an issue that was gone when I fired it up again.

It didn't want to go above 2500rpm without shaking. Then when I turned the car off and restarted it it was gone.

Does anyone know what that could have been?

I've never heard of shaking in limp mode. But maybe it's Nissan's way..
I have a code reader and read the codes.
I've got an EVAP code which has to do with the box hanging in the rear bumper. I cleaned it and checked the valve with 12v to see if it was working. It did so I placed it back.
Unfortunately the code keeps coming back.

I also have a code for my fuel temperature sensor which I was hoping to locate under a seat in the back but I just 2 minutes ago found that's not possible so I need to take the tank out.

I'm still not 100% sure the sensor is in there but I can't find any information about it.

So these two codes I've got already for quite some time..

It may not have been the limp mode causing the shaking- there may have been an actual issue that was causing the shaking, the computer then went into limp mode.
You haven't mentioned if you have the gas 4.0L (some people from around the world post on here and have the diesel, which was never available in the United States). The information I will offer is for the 4.0L engine.
The fuel tank temperature sensor is located inside the fuel tank and is sold as part of the fuel level sending unit. You will need to get as much gas out of the tank as possible before removing. There are some fuel line connections on top that are difficult to reach- there isn't much slack in the lines. I had to lower the tank a little and try to get my hand in there to disconnect the lines. I used a floor jack and a large wood plank to support the tank.

You might be able to get it from Nissan:

There are some companies in the US that I shop, but they may not ship outside of the country (or it may be too expensive). There are a lot of aftermarket versions available that are cheaper on Amazon and ebay, but given the work involved I didn't want to risk having to do it again to save a little so I stuck with OEM.

Also, when troubleshooting issues with your Pathfinder you might also search for the Frontier and Xterra from the same years- they shared many of the same parts and sometimes I find what I'm looking for under a post for a Frontier that I can apply to my Pathfinder.
