Seatbelt warning Chime Randomly Goes Off and random rapid beeping.

I have a 22 Platinum and have electrical gremlins.

1. The seatbelt warning randomly goes off while driving even though I am buckled in. It will go off for about 4 minutes and then go away. Also, it will randomly display that the rear passant is buckled in but I am the only one in the car.

2. Random rapid beeping when accelerating from a stop and when opening the drivers door.

I do not have any check engine lights on.

I don’t want the car to spend another week at the dealership, but it’s becoming a huge safety concern at this point.

Anyone else have this issue?

Maybe you can buckle the seats one at a time and see if the alarm goes off. If the alarm stays off for a set time period, unbuckle that seat and see again if it goes off. Do this until you know for sure what seat is causing the false alarm. That is what I would try. It's really hard to find an intermitent problem. You can also unbuckle your seatbelt then buckle it back up and see if the alarm goes off.

We have been dealing with this on a 2022 pathfinder for the past year. Anytime we take it in it does not do it. Ours is not related to the seat belt. It is a series of rapid beeps like 5 to 7 and it sounds like it is coming from under the hood. For weeks it will not do it. Then all of a sudden it will. Ours seems to be related to the sonar sensors or a door swith, hood switch my opinion. When we are out driving and come to a stop at a light it will start when we get close to a car in front of us. Based on my experience with this I have done these things:

1. Charged the battery up to 100% seems nissan only charges the AGM batterry to 70% to 80% it never charges to 100% usually like 12.52 volts which is 80%. This has taken care of the problem sometimes.
2. I adjusted the back trunk/hatch door to close more by turning in the rubber stoppers on the door this has also worked.
3. Mades ure the sensor wire was not crimped by the hood. When you close the front hood on my pathfinder the bracket was coming down on the wire. Moved the wire back so this would not happen. This took care of the issue also.
4. Lubed all the door latches with silicone sparay including the fron t hood and rear hatch. Again this worked for awhile.
5. Changed the batteries in both of our key fobs.
6. made sure the front sensors wires were all snug and attached.
7. Made sure the battery terminals were tight.

While my wife was out of town I put her keys at the front of the house and the whole time she was gone 2 weeks I never had a problem. However when she got back ans kept her purse close to the garage I did have it happen.

So, I have not found the answer just wanted to share what I have done. It is totally random and I would guess it is some sort of loose wire somewhere that cures itself but then gets loose again.

This seatbelt issue just started for me a couple days ago. Same year of pathfinder. It’s so annoying. Did you figure out a fix?

also have the external beeping, dealer told me that when handles get wet or with some wind, the vehicle thinks the doors are trying to be opened because it goes by pressure not by a button like other vehicles (same beeping when using touch unlock). Dealer said nissan is trying to figure out a fix to this, and hasn’t yet. 🤦‍♀️

Yes, we have the aeatbelt warning issue right now on our 2023. They are telling us they won’t do anything about it until they can reproduce it. Service manager said its not a safety issue because the seatbelt id buckled. But I asked him what the warning means and he said it means the seatbelt isn’t fastened in an occupied seat. Lets stay connected as this may be an emerging issue.

I have a 2023 and was getting the same random seatbelt warning while driving for a couple of months, now the back seat on the drivers side is always showing the green passenger light, like that seatbelt is permanently on. That seat is always green on the display and no seatbelt warning since.

I have the same problem in my 2023 pathfinder platinum. It is very annoying when your driving and it starts beeping. I just learned to plug the belts in and leave them like that. I'm usually the only one in the vehicle. We learned that it was coming from the second row seats. My husband would drive and I would lean back and I would plug and unplug the belts. Hopefully they come out with a fix for it.

My 2023 Pathfinder is also doing this more and more over the past couple of months, definitely the driver seat belt. I have a video of it happening that I'm going to show the dealership. One thing that seems to help is starting the vehicle first, then putting on my seat belt after it's done all of the startup checks. Of course my habit is to put the belt on first and then start the vehicle so I have to think about it every time I get in. Maybe the computer fails the seat belt check because it's already plugged in at startup...I'd have to see the code to be sure (30+years as a coder in multiple languages, I'd see the bug if I had the source code :) ). When it starts beeping I've found that turning off the ignition, removing the belt, starting up again and re-attaching the belt has been a cure 4 times in a row. Still a royal pain. BTW, almost in sympathy, my 2013 Hyundai Genesis coupe just did the same thing to me for the first time. Apparently this is a contagious thing.

I leave the passenger side seatbelt connected at all times now and that has worked for me. My latest theory is it needs a more powerful computer to handle things. I’m not a techie so it’s just a guess, but my ability to lock doors using a finger to press outside of handle is random too.

Anyone heard the latest in this? I have a 2022 SL premium packs and it’s my 2nd row seating that is going nuts. Once a week now or so it randomly goes off saying my empty car is unbuckled. Nothing on the seats, has happened when no teens have been in the 2nd row or after they have been buckled and exited. The external beeping has been about once a month for me and unrelated to seatbelt gremlins.

I have been having the same issue in my '22 pathfinder. Seat belt alarm will go off, sometimes multiple times in the same drive. Dealership couldn't find anything wrong as they couldn't duplicate it. They told me to record as it's happening - show the alert picture telling you what seat isn't buckled, and then pan around the vehicle to show occupants, or lack thereof. It's a pain for sure. Hopefully it gets figured out sooner than later, but I'm not holding my breath.

I think my dealership finally fixed the issue. There was often a green X in the third row passenger side seat when starting the vehicle. They checked that seat specifically and found a 'defective' seat belt buckle, whatever that means. Now there no more phantom passengers and the alarm has not chimed in over two months. Something for others to look into.
