Good for you, but I wouldn't count on reimbursement after the fact.
Good for you, but I wouldn't count on reimbursement after the fact.I completely agree. It makes no sense, but sadly this kind of crap doesn't surprise me from these stealerships. I found a good deal on OEM rotors and bought them online. If the rotors fix the issue, I will give them an opportunity to reimburse me before filing a complaint with Nissan corporate, BBB, etc.. and leaving an accurate review of my experience on all of the socials. I don't plan on letting them get away with this crap unscathed.
I don't expect it at all, but I am at least going to give them a chance before I go scorched earth on themGood for you, but I wouldn't count on reimbursement after the fact.
Yeah, I am certain they are warped. The service advisor actually tried to explain to me that it could be caused by a flat spot on my tires. I went ahead and ordered new oem rotors and I’m just going to replace them on my own. I’ll let you guys know how it goes. Riddle me this.. if the dealer thought they might be warped, why wouldn't they just do a warranty replacement on them? Don't they make money off warranty work?measured within tolerance means warped, warped is warped no matter how muchpolish you put on it. esp since you can feel it
My rear brakes went out at just under 20K. Was metal to metal. Dealer said aftermarket breaks aren’t released yet. Took my 2022PF to 2 different dealers and both told me breaks are bad quality. One said they can’t believe Nissan hasn’t stepped in yet. The others say they feel Nissan will eventually step up because brakes are horrible. I have CA case open trying to get reimbursed for my breaks.Have a 22 pathfinder 27k miles. Dealer said needs rotors resurfaced. I looked through the rim and rotors appear to be smooth. Not sure if they need to be resurfaced.
Went to the auto part store and nothing came up in the computer for brakes or rotors. What aftermarket part should I look up for rotors and pads? Is nissan still using 2020 parts?
Nissan corporate has to be aware of this issue. I'm wondering if the brake pads are bad because of some issue with quality, or is it more about size, or lack thereof? Does anyone remember the issue with Titan brakes being undersized? Nissan eventually upgraded the brakes to a larger size but it took them 4 years to do it. We really like this Pathfinder and want to keep it but the thought of going through this again in 20K miles is very discomforting. Also, sorry for the ignorance here but what is a CA case?My rear brakes went out at just under 20K. Was metal to metal. Dealer said aftermarket breaks aren’t released yet. It’s a Consumer Affairs case with Nissan Corporate. I agree, the have to be aware, just trying to see how much money they can get before they do something about it.Nissan corporate has to be aware of this issue. Yeah, now that I know how much of a weak link they are, I plan to check them more often and replace the pads when necessary. I'll still file a CA case just to get it on record. Also folks, make sure you are checking the pins to make sure they can move. 3 of 4 of mine were stuck in place, which can cause uneven pad and rotor wear.Don't waste your time, they don't care.
Nissan used the same rear brake pads on the R52 Pathfinder, Sentra, Maxima, Altima, some Rogues, Murano, Juke and who knows what else. These pads most likely last a long time on a Sentra and Juke but not on a heavier vehicle.
Although it seems Nissan used a different pad on the rear brakes of the R53, they might still be too small.
At least those pads are cheap. I've learned to always have a spare set in my garage and replace them whenever I swap Winter/Summer tires. Just check them regularly so they don't damage the rotors.
Did you have to replace calipers too?Yeah, now that I know how much of a weak link they are, I plan to check them more often and replace the pads when necessary. No, my calipers are fine, but the rear brakes on the R53 Pathfinder are a little more difficult for DIY because they have an electronic parking brake. I had to unscrew the electronic parking brake from the caliper and then manually crank it back in so that I could compress the piston. It's not difficult at all, but it adds time to a brake job.Did you have to replace calipers too?
Yup I have 2022 sl with 12685 miles bought brand new need pads and rotors contacted waiting return call.front drill have beef smhIt gets better... i finally found a dealer with brake pads and drove an hour to go get them. I swapped them out and it still pulsates when braking! The front brakes look beefy with tons of pad life left, so it seems like the rear rotors must be warped. Has anyone else had the rear rotors warp with low mileage? I'm wondering if Nissan will warranty replace the rotors. This just isn't right!
