Question about the missing HD Radio

Hi, I just picked up my 2022 SL Pathfinder with all the bell and whistles. I was shocked that when I went to set up the radio that there is no HD option for the FM stations. With having the upgraded system and speakers this was quite shocking. My old car was a Mazda CX-9 and both my 2015 and my 2018 versions had the HD radio with he upgraded speakers, it sounded great. Anyone have any info why the documentation for the pathfinders saw that the HD should be there but mine does not?

It may be that HD radio is fading out. I had a car radio in the 80s or 90s that had AM stereo. I think that is dead now.
OR
It could be in the settings. I know my 2017 has a setting for HD radio yes or no. It was set to yes and I've kept it that way since I got it so I don't know if I set it to NO, the HD radio it would go away on the radio screen but it's worth a check.

Thanks for your ideas, the issue is that there is not even a setting for HD to turn it on or off. Just nonexistent.

You might be one of the dino… few who actually knows what HD is and how to benefit from it.

I had the same observation with my 2022 SL with standard audio and speakers. Having that feature in my traded in 2019 Murano I was surprised to find it missing with no way to enable. I first thought it might be a “premium” audio feature, but you laid that to rest.

There’s a lot of HD programming in the St. Louis market so it would have been used. Another disappointing omission from Nissan for this vehicle.

I have a 2019 Pathfinder SL. And in order to get the HD signal, you have to be signed up with one of the Sirius XM radio subscriptions. Not sure if that is the case for 2022 as well but ymmv

Same, I had 2018 Rogue and loved the HD radio. I called the Nissan support, they advised me to come to the dealer. It's not convenient for me to drive to the dealer just to ask about the HD radio, but I will definitely ask when on a oil change

my wife had a 2017 Sentra SL and a 2020 Rogue SL and both have HD radio. It is not listed as one of the features for the 2022 Pathfinder, which means they chose not to include it. But if you look at the specs of other 2022 Nissans, such as the Armada, you can see they have it listed as one of the standard features in the infotainment section.

I can only think this was for cost cutting, but how much can the hardware and license for HD radio could cost?

Sirius comes with the platinum model so HD is just omitted. Weird because the 2020 Rogue had it.

It is cause you never know what level you have to have to get the hd signal.

I got the platinum. There is no higher. Unless it's on the lower model???

Interesting. The Nissan Connect Manual on the website mentions "HD Radio (if equipped)" and says it must be turn on to work, but then the menus in the same manual omit any way to turn it on. I have a feeling that it may not be available in the North American market. Bummer if true. We are coming from a 2019 SL Premium that has it. Sad if our inbound Platinum won't!

2022 SL owner I too cannot find a way to enable it and thought I must be missing a key step to enable HD radio. Guess not?

Oddly, Nissan promotes the availability of HD radio via Nissan Connect here...

With this in mind, I reached out to Nissan Owner Support and they very quickly confirmed it's not a feature available for the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. I guess they really want Sirius XM exclusivity now? It's not a deal breaker, just unexpected after many years of having HD radio included in all of the Nissan vehicles I purchased.

I had HD radio in my 2017 Maxima, but there are only a handful of HD stations where I live so I don’t miss it in the Pathfinder. I have a trial of Sirius XM with my new Pathfinder but probably won’t renew it once the trial is up. I just don’t listen to it enough to pay for it. I would rather play my own music via my phone thru the system.

I also wondered about this. If I recall correctly, my 2019 Rogue SL had the HD radio function, That car was the first and last time I saw it too.
I couldn't figure out why the HD function wasn't readily available - now I know why. THANKS for the intel!!

Hello I have the same issue with my new Pathfinder(Platinum), so did you find the solution? Dealer and NissanConnect couldn't help me lol
