Off-Road Look ?

Besides the parking protection bull bars, has anyone tried giving the PF an off road look?
Mud type tires, suspension kits, off road/driving lights, fender flares.....

Exactly. No matter how many add-ons we put on our PFs they will never be off-road vehicles but someone might be able to make it look like one.

I've seen many good and bad transformations, good ones (seen in auto shows) sometimes end being launched as new models depending on how the public reacts the them.
Here are a few examples of factory ones:

put a tuxedo on a pig, its still a pig.....That's almost as bad as putting huge spoilers and beer can mufflers on little Honda's to make them look like they are fast lol

The replies seem a little harsh. Coming from a lifted Jeep guy for the past 10 years, modifying a vehicle to match a look isn't new. If they sold a 1" spacer lift for my pathfinder, I would take it in a heart beat. Now we all know this wont handle much outside dirt roads but don't kill a dream.

Bilstein should make their 5100 series shocks for the PF. Every 2WD truck I have owned, I have lifted 2-3 inches. Our streets flood whenever we get a heavy rain...like an afternoon thunderstorm. I have always liked the extra ground clearance. I wouldn't mind an extra inch either.

I wouldn't mind an extra inch either.
I know...thats what she said!!

I just recently posted information about the Gabriel Ultra Shocks and Struts I purchased for my 2013 to replace the OEM saggies.
Also, since I tow an ultralight TT, I also added Firestone airbags to the rear, and replaced my Conti's with Cooper Discoverer AT3 (265/70-R18). Wicked good ride now and no rubbing when I turn either.

Any pictures you can pass on? From Googled photos they look a little aggressive for me and my Walmart loving Pathy.:D

I believe the our body of Pathfinders could look a little beefier with some nice A/T tires such as the Cooper's in a earlier post or even some Duratrac's plus a little lift, and definitely aftermarket off-road styled rims. However the aerodynamics and the independent suspension kill many options (the CV axles are only long enough for the current amount of suspension travel). Even with a spacer lift there are many other supporting items needed for the vehicle to handle correctly (maybe ABS and traction control issues), it's not worth injuring yourself or others.

Sure.... I bought the light bar off of ebay from a seller by the name of "autopartm".. It's a 50" curved bar with 96 Phillips LED Chips.

As far as the mounting brackets go, DO NOT USE THE ONES THAT COME WITH THE LIGHT BAR.. They mount through the roof, you don't want to drill through that..Lol. I took a shot in the dark and bought another set of brackets from another seller on Ebay by the name of "HKTMFASHION". They are for a '88 / '01 Jeep Cherokee. I couldn't of gotten luckier!!! You would swear they were made for our vehicle. Plus they mount in the door jamb away from the elements and will never probably leak..

I'll post some pics below in a bit.

Really old post thread but a good update. I did put on the proper sized tires that Nissan should have put on it. AND, ours is actually off-road nearly every weekend. View attachment 16214
whst size falkens do you have on there now? And have you had any rubbing? I am wanting to increase the tire size but thinking my choice of 265/65 18s will rub when I turn since they are over an inch wider and 1.5 inches lager diameter than 235/65 OEM. The tire shop said 255/65 would probably be okay.

I took a lot tips from this forum and did the same. Wider Yokohama Geolandar G015 all terrain tyres and a mild lift. We take ours off road a fair bit and I've found the limits of the car too. Even with the one inch lift the clearance is appalling, I have a rock sized dent on my oil pan to prove it. 😂 Also, the CVT/computer just won't let the car put power to the ground to get over more challenging rock steps.

Having said that, for the money and fact that I use this car to ferry kids to school on every other day that it's not off-road it's a pretty decent bit of kit. When I bought the car, I never intended that I would be out camping or off roading this much. Just started replacing things as I needed. E.G. The rear springs sagged so I replaced all four with lifted heavier duty King springs.

I too am looking at replacing the springs with something more stout and to gain a little clearance.
Would you mind sharing the tire specs you were able to get under the pf after the lift?
Do you like them? How is the ride with the stiffer springs/tires? Mileage?
Sorry for all the questions, appreciate any info you are willing to share.

Thanks,
jcc

The roof rack is a Rola Titan 1500x1200mm which fits perfectly. It doesn't cover the sunroof either. I used a low mount rail system so the tray sits as low as possible.

Expensive, but it's been one of the best investments with all the travel we do with the pathfinder. I used the roof rack to mount the side awning, as well as extra lights for the front and sides. The full size spare wheel goes on the roof too, I can't hope to rely on the space saver if I'm towing or in the middle of nowhere.
