anyone know what this noise may be? see link below
it's heard mainly when Pathfinder is running, idling, in neutral,
or in drive but at a stop, not so much when vehicle is moving,
i hope it's not a transmission issue
sounds like a diesel like sound
anyone know what it may be or have hear this before?

Welcome to the forum !

Sounds similar to what I have (present tense), read this.
We came to the conclusion that the issue is caused by the fuel rail dampers (there was a TSB for other Nissans) and since it was just an annoyance, I have not fixed it yet. Mine only makes noise when it is hot. Hear it here:

Mine makes it all the time now.
when engine running and at still
It worries me a bit, as I’m not sure if it’s serious or will lead to future problems.

anyone know if this part is easy to replace or if expensive etc.

Do what was suggested in post #17 of my thread. If you do not have a stethoscope, grab a piece of hose, put one end on one ear and move the other end over the different components you want to listen at.

And dumb question, have you checked you do not have a hole/leak in your exhaust?

i think it may be fuel dampers, as other Nissan owners seem to have these same issues

Someone said they replaced their AC compressor and fixed the noise!
