Previously I owned a 2011 Audi Q7 TDI. It had an unfortunate engine failure at just over 200K. I didn't tow often, so I decided that wasn't as important in a replacement vehicle. After Dieselgate, I decided to avoid Audi and VW. The biggest features I was interested in was space inside for sleeping, ground clearance, decent gas mileage, and availability. Finding a vehicle available to purchase was by far the most difficult part of the process.

I drive on fire roads, into questionable trailheads, and lots of winter driving. I like to car camp while enjoying running and biking adventures. I'm looking forward to seeing what others have done with setting up their rigs. I often stealth camp on road trips, so I prefer for my setup to be contained inside.

I bought Weather Tech window covers instead of making my own from Reflectix and duct tape. They're okay, but not great. I may use them as a pattern and attach Reflectix to them depending on how my first winter camping trip feels.
