Headlight adjustment

I'm finding the measurements in the nissan book a bit confusing.
Should the lights be aimed to sit ON the horizontal headlight centre line or just bellow it? I always thought @ 25 ' the driver's side should be just bellow and the passenger side slightly lower than that.

Note 2 at the bottom sounds like it should be just under the line.

Oh wow that's great. What the heck is J on H-line? I can't see a J in the diagram.

Good question- I didn't notice that. I went back and looked at other year manuals for the Pathfinder and they are all the same (referencing "J"). So I went and looked at the manuals for the Frontier and Xterra. Their aiming chart looks exactly the same, but the text in the manual is a little different. This may make more sense (it references distance A on the H line):
