Head unit reboot loop - fix?

1721 Views 28 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  warren.mcgrath
2017 SL with nav and Bose, just clicked 50k miles. CPO

Head unit has been randomly resetting but today it went full endless reset loop. No audio,no backup camera, no climate control since it reboots the second it defaults to the nav screen.

Pressed down the power button multiple times to hard reset. Pulled the 15A audio labeled fuse, all good.

Any ideas? Would like to avoid a predatory dealer visit.

So your radio head is fine, its the display? 🤦🏽‍♀️
I can only assume so. They already changed the head unit and that did not remedy the issue. I don't even know if this will fix it. We won't know until they do it. I'll keep the thread updated, for sure.
ok just heard back. It needs an entirely new display - $3,500 part

This car has 50,000 miles on it and just needed $8,500 in repairs. Unreal. I can't get rid of this thing fast enough.
That stinks big time
Update: Nissan has now reneged on the 60% repair assistance and is offering me no assistance at all. Their decision is final, so now I'm stuck paying for this monster repair bill.

Never again.

FINAL UPDATE: did not do the repair and CarMax just gave me 22k for my car (2017 SL w/ 50k miles). I bought it in December 2020 form the same price. Hard to beat that kind of deal.

Onto the Palisade. Good luck to you all. May your Nissan products be less horrible than my last two. After a lifetime of Nissans I am officially OUT on the brand.

That sucks....so far my 13' is hanging in there.
I have the same problem. I bought a new display on eBay for a little over $100 and Best Buy installed it for me. It is called a dash mount information screen. Display screen is more than just a monitor. It is a computer also.

I have seen lots of those on eBay as well. Thats where I got my "new" subwoofer box unit from. This one was never installed in a SUV. I haven't had it hooked up yet
