Hi everyone, I'm curious to know if anyone has experienced a noise I begun hearing and if they have any guesses at what it may be. 2015 SL with 94,000km.

I sometimes (not always) hear a low grinding noise when gently accelerating at fairly low speeds (less than 50kph). As soon as I remove my foot off the accelerator the noise goes away. If I reapply it, it doesn't necessarily come back, or if I press the accelerator hard I don't hear it either. I notice it most often when I am pressing the accelerator just hard enough to maintain speed but not hard enough to actually accelerate. I've been hearing this noise for a few months but used to be so quiet I couldn't verify. In recent weeks I feel it's gotten louder and my wife no longer thinks I'm crazy and hearing things.

I've read through other posts and one similar suggests a transfer case. Another one that matched a bit was a wheel bearing but I doubt it since it's lower speed and accelerator related.

Anyone have any guesses?

Thank you for your help!

I thought that too at first but it's gotten progressively worse and a few times been quite loud. Hopefully nothing serious. I've had the vehicle for 3+ years and it has had one issue per year.... Coming up on year 4 soon....

I've had this since I got mine at 16,000KM, has persisted through transmission swap. Same scenario, low speed/low load, 1000-1100 RPM. Does it in 4WD & 2WD. At this point I've assumed it's just engine/trans noise and it hasn't caused me any issues yet @ 94,000KM.
