Wife informed me the other day the right rear door was not locking or unlocking with the fob or driver door buttons. manually locking and unlocking ok. Took the door panel off, actuator off. ohms across actuator seems ok, about 30,(old analog meter, my good one is at work), but nothing to compare it to. Didn't want to tear another door apart.
Checked the plug and getting voltage spike each time I hit lock but not unlock. But door is open so don't know if computer see's that and doesn't send it. put everything back together and now its working fine. Crossing fingers that it was just a bad connection at plug and not a broken wire that moving the harness around temporarily connected it again. Will have to wait and see if it stops working again.
Bought 1 year used with 28,000 miles. I think there has been work done in the door before me. nothing in dealer records that I asked for and was given. Taking the door panel off, the sheet plastic cover was not well attached. other cars I have worked on these sheets are usually very well attached. and the rubber trim by the window was folded over and pinched under the door panel.
Sooooo.....anyone else pulled door panels off and know if what I saw was normal for new? searching, only saw a couple 2014 door lock issues. They were both very new, covered under warranty with an actuator change.
Thanks for any input.
