This bothers me a lot with my 2017! When it's around and below freezing and I start the engine when it's cold, it winds up to what sounds like 3000+rpm. I can't tell exactly because of the gauge sweep but it revs high. This seems really bad for the motor as there's no oil circulated and it's frozen cold. Does anyone know more about this?
Also, when below freezing I let it run for a few minutes before driving and I drive it easy for a while. However, the cvt/throttle is very unresponsive and jerky until it warms up. I'm hoping I'm not alone in this?

Yes exactly. But it's it normal for it to be jerking around when it's cold? I only had a chance to test drive them in the summer so this, and cvts are all new to me.

My 2017 is the same. When is real freezing, for the 1st one mile or so, it is really jerky and revs high and after that the transmission automatically downshifts to normal rpm.

Glad to hear it seems normal. I'm new to cvts so it's been pretty alarming. Thanks for the replies!
