CarPlay issues 2023 Platinum Pathfinder

I recently purchased a new 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum. CarPlay worked fine the first two days in use. However, now it randomly will not connect. If it does connect, I cannot use Apple Music while the car is in motion. It will only show recently added music and will not play if I select something. I can put the vehicle in park and it immediately works again. When it works correctly, I can select albums-then have the option to select A-Z-then select what I want to hear. I have called the dealership and they could not tell me why this is happening. I have tried un-pairing the phone and re-connecting. It will work fine the first time I start the vehicle, but then stop working at random times. Anyone have any similar issues?

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Is your iPhone updated to the latest version of iOS and the Apple Music app? Also, does it make a difference if you're connected via cable or wirelessly to the PF?

Yes, everything is up to date. Apple doesn’t know why this is happening, Nissan doesn’t know. Of course they each blame issues with the other. Today, I drove my car and the date/time were correct at first. When I got in the vehicle approx. 2 hours later, the time was about 3.5 hours behind. I feel like are some issues with Nissan’s computer system even though they are telling me nothing is wrong…..
Did you try connecting your vehicle to home WIFI? There is maybe software update for your head unit.
See if you can learn on how to reproduce clock issue - maybe you need to drive through bumpy road (maybe speedbumps will help). There is could be a cold solder joint somewhere in the circuit.

In any case, next time you go to the dealer, don't say anything about Apple CarPlay, complain about clock only - that way they will not have anyone else to blame, and maybe will start paying attention.

Thanks for the follow-up. To confirm, the same issue happens when you connect your iPhone via USB/Lightning cable?
Happens to me too. I have to turn the car off open door the restart car sometimes. I am on the beta so I thought it was an issue with that. I put in a ticket with apple regarding it.
I have an issue once in a blue moon. I used to have issues with wired CarPlay in my 19 Rogue too. The wireless implementation of car play is lots of cars seems to be buggy. Luckily mine is fine most of the time. Usually if I turn my phone off and on again solves my issue.

Can you test after factory blutetooth off? Sometimes factory bluetooth and carplay be conflict.
