Audio System Malfunction

I'm about a month and 900 miles into a new 2022 Pathfinder SL 4WD with Premium Package and I absolutely love the ride; however, I had a very peculiar incident occur this morning. I started the car via the remote start on the key fob and after I fully started it, there was no sound coming from the speakers. The display was fully operational and I switched between various audio sources, but there was no sound at any volume level. It sounded as though the amplifier that gets the sound to the speakers was not functioning or connected. I reset the audio system (by pressing the power button for ~20 seconds) and tried turning off and on the car (but only after a few minutes), and nothing worked. I'm wondering what will happen after a few hours of the car being off, hopefully the problem will reset itself.

I assume I'll need to take the vehicle in for service, but I wanted to see from the Pathfinder community if anyone else has encountered this issue and whether or not it is something I am able to troubleshoot on my own. Thank you in advance; I appreciate the help.

Quick follow up: I returned to my car after 3+ hours of it being off and after start-up the audio system worked as expected.

While it appears as though everything is functioning normally, I am concerned as to whether or not this will happen again and wonder if it is still worthwhile asking Nissan Service to investigate in case there is a part or aspect of the software that needs adjustment. It kills me that a brand new car would have any issues whatsoever.

Thanks again for anyone else's experience and/or relatable accounts.
When you say "The display was fully operational and I switched between various audio sources, but there was no sound at any volume level", was this after you started the vehicle (pressed the brake and hit the start button) or while the engine was running under the remote start mode?
Next time it happens, make a video and report the issue to the dealer.
Nissan won't know there is a bug to fix unless they get several reports of it. The bug could be in the remote start sequence.

This was after I fully started the vehicle. I figure I will need to speak to the dealer, but brought this to the attention of other users in the event that it is happening to other people. I have remote started the Pathfinder well over a dozen times with no error, but working with computers I know that bugs often occur randomly and this morning could've have been the lucky chance that it would occur.

Hello. We had the same problem multiple times. Even the radio froze while driving. Called Nissan and filed a complaint twice. Took to the dealership they reprogrammed the radio and tried to update it but they said there was nothing they could do and tried to say it’s the Bluetooth. This is a major problem I think and when we are driving with the pro pilot it searches for the single lane bouncing us back in froth from left to right. It’s super crazy scary. I figured it’s the sun blinding the sensors. I don’t know if anyone else had this issue.
Our 2019 pathfinder did the same thing, of course the stealer couldn't find anything, then the screen went blank, with a message "searching for connection" this time the dealership said it was a bad NAV chip, it took them two months to get a new one. The radio still looses preset station and we have to clear the sign up for satellite radio. I'm very disappointed with the electronics in a car with on 22k.

It is disappointing. We have a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. After 28 days (not even a month), the malfunction ignition light came on. Took it to the dealership where they kept the truck for 2 days and couldn’t find any issues. Seems like a lot of people are having minor issues with their Pathfinders.
Had three freeze-ups so far. Just happened last night. Got in car the normal way and the radio had no sound.. Couldnt change sources.. Turned it on and off without effect. Turned entire vehicle off and restarted, still nothing. Got in this morning and everything was back to normal.
The no audio, and head-unit rebooting, happened once so far to me. The audio source was being played over Bluetooth at the time. Then did it while being checked in for service by the Technician. Normal SIRIUSxm that time. The vehicle was in for defective drivers heated seat.
Later the dealership was told by Nissan Canada that, "they are aware and is under review by engineering, no timeline". So I guess wait for a software update.

That response was the same I received when having the dealer check out the radio changing source inputs on its own. Mine will periodically switch from SIRIUS to FM upon starting up without me lifting a finger.
Wow! I thought I was loosing my mind. 2022 Pathfinder SL Premium and the audio system while fully functional otherwise has zero sound. Was working fine - then nothing. Tried with and without phone connected. Tried the 10 sec reset - no change. Going to let it sit for the afternoon and see what happens.

All good today. Back to normal.

This exact same thing is happening to me right now in my 2023 SL 4wd premium package as well!!! It’s super super frustrating!!! This is the 2nd time it’s happened and I’ve only had the car for 2 weeks!

Good evening! I just bought my 2023 Pathfinder platinum and just had this happen out of nowhere. I tried different sources as well and no sound. My Apple CarPlay works otherwise and I’m able to change stations and such but ZERO SOUND! Very frustrated customer. I’ve had the car for 9 days exactly so I’m past the return period or else I probably would’ve taken that route. Please keep me posted about possible recalls or software updates!

Try to press and hold power button until your head unit reboots.

Same! No sound for any of the functions! I’ve only had mine less than a month.

This is happening to me also on the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder. No sound radio goes out it blank. Susan needs to fix this.
I have a 2023 Pathfinder and same thing happens to me all the time, I get no sound on the radio, after receiving a call. I noticed that when I tried to change the volume, the music logo is not there anymore just the phone logo, right next to the volume bar. I always need to turn off the car and the audio system to get my radio volume working again. Is really frustrating. Has somebody got any answers from the dealer?
Same thing just happened to me, Nissan Pathfinder Platinum 2023. I got this car 10 days ago. No sound at all. Inhave tried everything an nothing is working.
Wife’s 22 SL with premium package has had radio completely shut off and go blank for a min or so and reboot itself 7-8 times over the almost 12 months we have owned it. Will mention to dealer next oil change.
