Nissan calls the airbag units modules for some reason. The one mentioned does only come with the seat. It's crazy expensive and I've ever seen anyone actually pay for the repair.

You'll have to check the junkyard to see if the seats are complete. Junkyards aren't able to sell airbag parts in NY, so I'm not sure exactly how it works when parts are integrated like this. If you can get it, definitely go used. May be different where you live though.

It's definitely in the seat back. I think it even says something on the upper side of the seat. No sensors on the driver's seat, just an occupant sensor in passenger.

One thing to check, because I've seen this many times, is the yellow connector under the seat. If you ever stuff junk under your seat, that connector can come off very easily. It could definitely be your problem. Just get a flash light and look under the seat and make sure the yellow one is plugged in. Super common.

I wouldn't say that there aren't many honest dealers anymore based on two different quotes. We don't know why that was the case and there are numerous factors at play. There are more honest dealers than dishonest, and you can change the word dealer to people, since the entity has nothing to do with it, it's just the people working there.

#1 is to check the yellow connector under the seat. This could end up being free.
