A fond farewell

As many of you know, I took delivery of my 2022 Pathfinder SL (without the premium package), back on March 30 2022. My car, out of the box, has been reliable and enjoyable.
Since that time, I have been fairly active here on PathfinderTalk.com and, during this tenure, have been very much imbued with all the information, technical and mechanical experience, and knowledge that is the life blood of this community. I don't think I would've kept the car this long without all of you!
However, my wife's unhappiness combined with my disappointment in Nissan for the shortcomings of the first generation 2022 model year, finally encouraged me to make a choice. There are quite a few posts, here in the community, in which I described the peculiar annoyances of the car itself. However, I will say the car was mechanically sound with very few glitches which others reported here. I sold the 2022 Pathfinder and bought a new 2023 Rogue SL with the premium package. The transaction took place this past Monday 5/22/23.
Was able to take advantage of 0% financing (for 36 months) on the Rogue, and took in $35,500 from the dealer.
For those curious, here are a few photos of the new ride. My wife is thrilled and, at this point. that means the most to me.
So - I will say 'so long' to all of you. From what I can tell 'out there', this website is unrivaled in it's content and membership! I will extend a big 'thank you' to our administrators for a providing a well-oiled machine-of-a-community.
I will probably stop by from time-to-time, just to keep an eye on things, if you don't mind!
Stay well, and drive safely!!

I sold my Pathfinder in 2018 and I'm still here although I think management rather me not. Your experience and knowledge to conversations would be helpful especially when new meat joins the forums.
Anyway good luck to you and yours and enjoy your Rogue. :)

Well, Mr. Hammer, I for one will miss your posts. You have been a class act and helped to answer some of my questions since I joined this forum. I'll probably hang on to my '22 SL 4WD with 18,000 miles, especially since I just put on all new tires! My only issues were: 1. the low front passenger seat, fixed with the risers. 2. Tires wearing out at 16,000 miles, fixed with new Uniroyal Tiger Paw's and 3. Loose cross rails which I fixed with aftermarket Omac ones. Did you have an extended warranty and if so, did you get a refund? I paid $2500 for 7 years, 120K miles. Best of luck to you and your wife. Enjoy your Rogue!

Hey @walstib - thanks for your kind words - I appreciate them and feel the same about you!
I realize the little things that bothered my wife meant more to me, than if it was my car alone. But I could not make up for missing the motion activated lift gate (for her) at all. As for the low passenger seat, I actually have the risers but was waiting for NISSAN to approve replacement of the front passenger seat leather. They're still 'working on it'. They did replace the drivers leather and that seemed to stay fixed.
As for the side window vent shades - the dealer could not install them (the 'pins' are back-ordered), and they NEVER reached out to me. For things to move forward with my selling dealer, I had to repeatedly call them - that got to be wearing over the 14 months I had the car.
Although I did not buy the extended (Nissan) warranty for the Pathfinder, I did buy a 7-year one for my 2015 Juke. When I sold that (for the 2019 Rogue), I was able to get a refund from Nissan (prorated), but it took weeks and a lot of phone calls and paperwork through the dealer. I bought a 6-year extended (Nissan) warranty for the 2019 Rogue. When I traded that in (for the 2022 Pathfinder), I contacted Nissan directly and found it to be much easier to get that prorated refund than going through the dealer. I did not buy an extended warranty for the 2022 Pathfinder.
And now, I did not buy an extended warranty for the 2023 Rogue.
See? Staying here I may still be able to share my experiences, both good and bad!!

@Hebrew Hammer , it was a pleasure reading your posts and little whining about Nissan neglecting its product and customers, which is totally true. Wish you best of luck with your new Rouge.
I have 2022 PF SV and my wife drives 2021 Rogue SV with premium package. This Rogue has fake leather and sunroof.
Couple of things I hate about it is seat doesn't go back far enough and I am not a giant (I am 5'10), Second thing - during heavy rain at highway speed it makes a gargling sound like water gets trapped somewhere in the front doors or sunroof, but no leaks inside. Three dealers couldn't find the source because by time I bring Rouge to them, water drains out.

My point is there is no cars nowadays without some kind of quirks. I had 3 Pathfinders and 2017 Rogue before I bought 2022, and they were better quality maybe because they were assembled in Japan. Smyrna, TN need to do a lot of catch up that is for sure.

Cheers mate and don't be a stranger.

Thanks Jman - you know I enjoy this community of ours!! I appreciate it.
I've been looking for something similar for the Rogue - so far, I have only found nissanforums.com, which has a category for the 3rd generation Rogue (2021-2023, at this point). It is set up similar to PathfinderTalk, but not quite up to the caliber just yet. I'll keep snooping around.
@Hebrew Hammer, Nico Club has a forum for 3rd-gen Rogues.

Congratulations on your new car! You will be missed here.

I’m happy with my 2022 SL Premium with one exception after I raised the passenger seat an inch. My car has annoying plasticky squeaks and vibrations that periodically come from the dash, console and drivers door panel. At times it sounds like a 10 year old Chrysler.

Good luck with your rogue. I did notice small things when they gave me a 2023 rogue as a replacement for a day when my car was in for service.
Some things are better in rogue whereas some in pathfinder. Nissan did choose cheap stuff here and there in both cars. You are right, apart from the minor annoyances of low front passenger seat, no lock on fuel filler door etc., the 2022 PF is mechanically fun to drive and unlike you my wife loves it. So I am keeping it. I drive a 2013 Corolla and the 10 year old Corolla has better quality though.

Thanks, @JayArras , I appreciate the tip. I've already added it for me to check out.
Currently, I am using this one: Nissan Forum - they may be similar, if not the same. I'll be able to tell more once I check your recommendation out.

Thanks, @DavidR22, for your kind words. As you can see, I plan on hanging around here - I like this group!! Plus, I am sure I can still learn stuff within the Pathfinder community that may be useful over at the Rogue community!
Interested in selling them?
Sure, @Rxdawg215, I have two boxed sets, for which I have no need any longer.
What did you have in mind?

Like your wife (happy in the Pathfinder), my wife is now happy in the Rogue, and I am tooling around in my 2001 Chevy Tahoe LS. I'm the original owner and have 134,000 miles on it. Not sure how long I will keep it running!!

Congratulations @Hebrew Hammer on the new ride. I enjoyed your contributions here and your enthusiasm about various issues. I had the Rogue a couple of times as loaners and it’s a pretty nice car.
