Hello everyone,

I found the information on this forum helpful when I was researching how to install my brake controller in my 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek edition.
What I found out along the way was the there was some confusion about what pathfinders could tow 6,000 lbs, there are names to packages etc. that you can get or are standard with some trim levels, but the bottom line is if you don't have the transmission cooler you will not be able to tow 6,000 lbs. So I created a short video on youtube on the subject:

And then I made a little longer (just over a minute and a half) video about my brake controller install:

We tow a small travel trailer (17.5 foot bunkhouse) it is right around 4,000 lbs unloaded.

I hope these videos help someone.

Thank you for posting your videos and welcome to the forum! The bottom line and the easiest to remember is that the 6000 lb. Pathfinder tow rating ONLY applies IF the R53 vehicle has the OEM tow package installed. Period, end of story. Currently, the tow package is available only on the SV with the Premium package, the SL with the Premium package, the Rock Creek and the Platinum.

Quick question...

Is the '23 RC (& '23 Pathfinders in general) riding on the exact same chassis/frame as the '22 models?

Local dealerships either don't know what they're talking about by saying it's "all-new" or they just don't care to know and give me the "lieutenant salute" (i.e. shrugged shoulders).

I know the transmission is new/different between the '23 and '22 models, but the underpinnings and frame are still the same, right? (outside of the off-road "tuned" suspension on the '23 RC)

Towing accessories and setup are also the same as well? Dealerships aren't too convincing to me in that regard also...
