Friends - I have a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder SL with 34k miles on it. Knock on wood, runs smooth like butter and never had any issues until last week.

1. Set the cruise to 70mph and suddenly the speed drops to like 68mph and then accelerates to 71-72mph. The accelerations is noticeable even by passengers, almost like a jerk. Never happened before, even if it's a climb, the cruise speed would be steady, only rpm would increase gradually. What could be the issue?
Note: Still on original CVT fluid. Never changed.

2. On the same trip, when I braked, I could feel brake pedal shudder almost like a ABS kick in but it was not the ABS. Even my wife could hear it. The rotors are fine and pads have life left on them. This happened only 2 times.

Can you help what could these issues be? I hope it's not something serious.

Did this only happen while using cruise control? Or was it also noticeable while driving without CC and using the gas pedal?

The way you describe the cc is how mine has acted since i got it, but i don't think it's a mechanical "issue". Just the nature of the beast.

Yes only while using Cruise control. With gas pedal still very smooth.

Thats weird to hear because for 34k miles, I have never seen the speed change, the CVT maintains it perfect. Did you ever show it to the dealer?

Yea I’d have to say that’s unfortunately probably something specifically with the cruise control. I had a similar issue but it was while using the gas pedal as well which is why I asked. Turned out for me it was an injector going bad. That was a fun time let me tell you.

Thanks. Upon thinking last night, I have a feeling my speed/transmission jerk issue could be due to the #2 issue I mentioned which may be a bad ABS wheel sensor or something. That might cause my transmission to hesitate. Only option now I have is to run a $120 diagnostic check

Might be the PEDAL CONTROL SWITCH, it's part of the accelerator pedal, the whole unit will have to be swapped out, as far the brakes is concerned might be located in the calipers, the metal piston may be sticking and causing that shudder, that was the issue on my 2012 pathfinder took it apart cleaned them out both sides and applied a high grade of grease for that application, that solved the issue, may need to do that more often if you get s lot of rain

Thanks. The problem seems to have gone away by itself. For last 1.5 months, not a single time. I am guessing may be it was the some dirt on the magnetic ABS sensor which fell away Fingers crossed.

You would instantly get a check engine light along with other lights and concerns if that happened.

Have you used the CC under the same exact conditions that caused the issues?

No check engine light never came on. I don't have the OBD scanner either which would have clearly indicated the problem or which of the 4 wheel sensors are bad.
