my vin doesn't come up as being recalled.

which probably means 'not yet' and not 'not at all' as they'll likely start the recalls with the first produced and add on additional months productions as they clear out/fix the earlier production models.

mine was produced in december 2016 so i will be checking the website periodically...which i do anyhoo...it will just be quarterly now that there is something going on rather than in december as i'd planned since i'd checked it in july (i normally check every 6 months).

current: 2017 pathfinder
previous 2003 maxima and 1986 maxima

tested the car last night, the ABS warning lamp didn't illuminate for more than 10 seconds after starting the engine, so i guess/hoping i'm fine.

i also got the message "There are no open recalls or campaigns associated with this vehicle." 2017 PF SL FWD Build Date: 04/17
The light being on for more than 10 seconds means that you already have a leak, and you need to park the vehicle immediately until it is repaired. Not having the light on doesn't mean you aren't affected by the recall.

The article I posted a few days ago in a thread I created says that they will begin repairs October 15. I'm guessing that is to give them time to get the databases updated and get parts out.

And I suspect the recall will be expanded. Same part(s) over the last few years.

Yeah, figured that one out after i posted it, anyway, could it be the affected models are the ones with intelligent cruise control?

I read this in the FAQ in Nissan recall site

Q. What model year vehicles are involved?

A. Certain MY2016-2017 Nissan Maxima and MY2015-2017 Murano vehicles equipped with Intelligent Cruise Control and a very limited number of Murano Hybrid vehicles.
