Lightbulb Supercharger?

does anybody know if the transmission would be able to handle the engine being boosted in any way? CVTs aren't that great i hear. If so would a supercharger kit from a Maxima be able to get retrofitted for the V6?

We all would love our vehicles to have more power but very few will actually invest the amount of money needed to make that happen properly.
Turbos or superchargers are not cheap nor easy to install on a vehicle that didn't come with it, you'd be looking at a couple of thousand to get just basic, low quality stuff installed. There is a video on Youtube of a guy that bought a turbo kit from eBay and installed it himself on a Honda Civic and he still spent around $1k.
Your engine and transmission will need remapping to be able to manage the upgrades and since there you'd be the pioneer (or guinea pig), it will cost you big bucks. That with no guarantee it will work as intended or provide the added power you are dreaming of.

You can contact tuners like Livernois, Unleashed, Orange Virus, AGP, etc. to see if they would develop something for you. The gain of tuning a non-turbo vehicle is not too much, maybe 10-15 hp at most.
This would still be the cheaper and safer way to go. I got my SHO tuned for about US$800 including a new map sensor, thermostat, tuning device + tunes and spark plugs but in my case, I gained ~80 hp so it was worth it.

If this is something that makes you lose sleep I would recommend trading the PF for a Durango SRT or an Explorer Eco-boost that can be tuned as described.

sounds like you really want a supercharged small block retrofitted in with 2wd aod transmission, driveshaft, shortened for 9 inch out back with dual disc's.... definitely going to put in the wrench time!

I believe the Maxima also uses the VQ35 engine like the PF but itís a slightly different version so not sure it will be an easy fit. Also, the Maxima is FWD only and PF are FWD bias so youíll need to Moe sure the tranny can handle it.
