98K Pathfinder: CVT Code P17F0

A back story - I ended up replacing my tranny recently (along with the transfer case) because of catastrophic failure caused by low fluid.

1. The car has been running well since, until I took it in for repairs today, when I heard a slight humming / groaning noise. I took it to the dealership to have the oil checked, and they pulled up the dreaded P17F0 code.

2. They told me they will need to investigate this issue further, and contact Nissan. I suspect the code indicates a CVT replacement.

3. But my car is currently out of the extended warranty @ 98K miles. I am not sure if the extended warranty mileage cover just the tranny or the rest of the car.

4. On the previous tranny that got damaged, the valve body was replaced as a result CVT issues.

5. So with the current problem, will Nissan still (or does any know) replace the CVT after expiration of the warranty?

will appreciate any thoughts - Oy
