Question My Only Solution for Music on Phone?

I bought a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder SL on Friday and it looks like the only option I have for getting music to play through the car (no nav) is to do RCA to 3.5mm jack. We have Android phones so the iPod function does not work.

I bought this
Amazon Amazon

So hopefully this will solve our solution. We stream a lot of Spotify and Pandora. I saw some BluTooth dongles and options while searching on this website, but this seems to be the cheapest option for us right now.

Any other suggestions?

I have been using similar cable and it works fine with my iPhone. From my experience, the iPhone functions in the car only works through USB, and it only controls the music you have stored in the phone. I listen to iHeart radio sometime and I have to use the cable. However, I didn't like dealing with the cable hanging out from the center storage and having to plug in the phone all the time. I just bought a bluetooth receiver from Amazon,

, that allows me to stream music and use the same 3.5mm to RCA cable. The only bad part I read in the reviews was that you have to connect your phone each time the power was turned off, but I prefer it like that because I rather have the phone connect to my car bluetooth first, and I can connect manually to the receiver whenever I want to play music.

Hmmm... I am positive that when we took delivery of ours I was able to synch my Samsung S3 and play music through the bluetooth wireless.

I believe Bluetooth streaming requires an upgraded audio system... The SL comes with the same system as the SV, and that system cannot stream.

We don't have the upgraded audio (Bose) or Navigation which was fine for us.

I will look into BluTooth dongles

Garage
I ordered the following and it works great. This powers on/off automatically with the car when plugged into the acc outlet. Also, I have my phone audio set to the car bluetooth and the phone media audio set to the Kinivo (show below) for music streaming, the only thing missing is the display of the audio details on the car screen.

I bought a RCA to 3.5mm audio jack from Target and everything is working great. We only listen to our music on our phones when we are traveling a long distance so this is not a big deal.

I love that they included a pass through cutout in the arm rest, very cool

Thanks!

Inside the deep-pocket center arm rest.

I just went through all those extra red/yellow/white jacks you accumulate over years. Found one with a black/yellow end that plugs into the phone. the black jack plugs into the phone and the red and white into the center console. You don't need the yellow/video plugged in. Pandora plays through car's aux input.
