6.5" Width Rims?

I am getting my steel POS winter rims replaced but the dealer only has 17" in 6.5" width. Rest of the specs are perfect - bore, BC etc. I researched and can't see any downside to this size. Comments??

Winter is almost over, what's the rush? I'd wait for them to get the right ones.

The rush is that two of the 4 are screwed and vibrate so that 90 kph is max top speed.

So they should give you a temporary solution (ie the 6.5") until they can get the right ones. My opinion.

But to answer your question, a 225 R17 can be mounted on a 6.0 to 8.0 rim http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/ty...ize-calculator
What is your tire size?

As if an insurance company will do that... current Hakkas are 255/65/17

According to the link that jman provided, you could run into some handling issues with your 255/65/17 Hakkas and a rim that width.

  • 2013 Pathfinder SL w/Premium in Brilliant Silver
(replaces 2002 Chevy Trailblazer LT EXT)
  • 2007 BMW 530xi in Sapphire Black

According to this table http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/ch...rim-size-chart the minimum rim width for 255 tires should be 8.5"

I got lost here... dealer replacing... insurance company....

Sorry - insurance will pay dealer or tire shop to replace the rims; both offering the 6.5" width RTX wheels. Or similar DAI. I kinda figured they are too narrow for 255/65/17s Thanks!
